About Anthony Bourdain
Anthony Bourdain was an American Chef and journalist who was famous for producing and starring in a series of travel programs that focused on the exploration of international culture, cuisine, and the condition of the region he was visiting. He first became known for his bestselling book Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, which came out in 2000.

In 2018 when Bourdain passed away, friends and enemies alike all over the world mourned him.

The Bourdain Effect
Some of the inspiration for our Country Communicator program comes from what Progress Humanity has dubbed "The Bourdain Effect." To illustrate, if the late, great host, Anthony Bourdain, included your restaurant in his television episode, your restaurant would feel positive effects of that media coverage for years. The result is that your restaurant is considered a local, national and international tourist attraction. Bourdain was respectful to each country he visited. He relished in highlighting his good experiences learning about his hosts, their country, and the culture that inspired the food he was eating.
